The University Certificate, worth 40 Level 7 credits, recognises the importance and complexity of the chaplaincy role and further professionalises it. On successful completion of the UWTSD University Certificate in Professional Chaplaincy (Policing), there is an opportunity for Chaplains to ‘top-up’ this award by studying a further 20 credit module to achieve a Postgraduate Certificate in Chaplaincy. Subsequently, the credits achieved can be used to top-up to a Postgraduate Diploma or an MA in Chaplaincy.

This study option is video based through our learning e-portal and so offers the freedom for students to work at their own pace through the content and assignments. Each student is allocated a tutor who they have access to for queries, support and assignment assessment. There is also the opportunity for attend optional live webinars.

Part-time – modules are delivered in two blocks of three days each.

The Certificate is a Master’s level award and has been created for part-time distance learners. It comprises two modules, including a Pastoral Placement. Each module has 20 teaching hours and is assessed through 6,000-word assignments.
