Induction Service for Revd Canon Helen Cameron, the next Moderator of the Free Churches Group

We are inviting you to the induction Service for the Revd Helen Cameron, who will succeed Revd Dr Hugh Osgood.

It promises to be an inspiring service where we will formally receive the Revd Helen Cameron in her new role, spend time in worship, offer prayers, and hear from Revd Helen Cameron as she gives her first formal address as the Moderator. We will also take the opportunity to record our thanks to Revd Hugh Osgood for his service and dedication as the Moderator of the Free Churches Group over the last few years.

We hope that many of our people from across the Free Churches will join us, to share this special occasion. The Service of Induction will be held at 6.30 pm on Sunday 3rd April 2022, at Wesley’s Chapel, 49 City Road, London, EC1 1AU. Please register for this free event via Eventbrite HERE.

We look forward to seeing you, but please do contact Sabina Williams on email: sabina.williams@freechurches.org.uk if you have any questions.

"We find peace in a broken place." Praying in Prisons Week

Prisons Week prayer for Saturday 16th October:

PROMISE
”Consider the ravens: they do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds!” Luke 12:24

We find peace in a broken place. God’s grace can give you new strength. My wounds you heal. Lord Jesus, how great you are! They control the locks, you Lord control the clocks. Time will pass and we will be free. Amen

Trust the past to the mercy of God, the present to his love, the future to his providence.
— St Augustine of Hippo 354 – 430 AD

Thank you for joining us during Prisons Week for a week of prayer and reflection on the theme of Respair – the return of hope after a period of despair. You can continue to share and pray with the Prisons Week resources throughout the year and you may also be interested in the monthly prayer diary produced by our friends at Prison Fellowship.

May God bless you in your work and witness, your life and ministry. Amen

Hope... pray with us in Prisons Week

Prisons Week prayer for Friday 15th October

HOPE
”For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

Let us pray… Dear God, I hear your kind words of comfort and reassurance that you want me to prosper and not be harmed. Help me not to worry about my life, but to put my trust in you, to be happy and full of hope, love and gratitude.

Amen

”I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols.” Ezekiel 36:25 - pray with us during Prisons Week

Prisons Week prayer for Thursday 14th October.

LETTING GOD

”I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols.” Ezekiel 36:25

Let us pray. Heavenly Father, I lift all those in prison today, no life is beyond your reach. Come to those who don’t know you and cause them to start seeking you. Thank you for those who do know you, in whom your heart resides; as they go through this day and cross paths with others, cause them to stop and listen, and show your great love to those they encounter. May we all make time for the lost and hurting today.

Amen

Allied Health Professionals Day 14th October

Allied health professionals make up the third largest clinical workforce in the NHS. There are 15 different roles working across a range of sectors from emergency response and diagnosis to mental and physical rehabilitation. On the 14 October, the many and varied workers who are allied health professions (AHPs) will be celebrating the 4th annual AHPs’ Day. This is very much driven by local ideas and opportunities. Follow #AHPsDay on Twitter you’ll be able to see examples from last year as well as plans starting to take shape for this year. You can also find out more about last year from the WeCommunities.

From Art Therapists to Osteopaths,

from Paramedics to Occupational Therapists,

from Dietitians to Podiatrists,

we pray for and give thanks for the work of those in allied health professions. Amen

Started in 2018, by Rachael Brandreth, a dietitian and Carrie Biddle, a speech and language therapist, AHPs’ Day is an annual opportunity for AHPs to come together and celebrate being part of the AHP family.

The day gives an opportunity to showcase to others the impact they make to the delivery of high quality care and is for all AHPs as well as anyone who wants to celebrate them and learn more about the work that they do.
